Default Starting Factions with or without Prophecies Character?

I just bought the guild wars trilogy for Christmas, and I'm almost at the end of prophecies. I was wondering if people recommend starting a new character for factions or just keeping the character from prophecies?

Is there benefits to starting a new character in factions or starting a new character or does it not really make a difference?

The only difference in bringing over an existing character would be the fact you are missing out on some starter quests. You can however venture back to Shing Jea to complete the first two missions. Other than that, it doesn't matter much what you do.

So it's up to you if you want to make another character or not. You could start a new one in Factions (say a Ritualist or Assassin) to experience the game with one of those profession. Or you could use your existing one and make it easier for yourself to get some titles.

Or you can do both.

It basically comes down to what you want to do

Do you want to try a new class, new character?

Or keep rolling and adding more skills, title points, etc

do what you feel like. you can always start a new char, and if you get bored, hop back on your prophs char

I made a different profession char for each campaign, went through each char's original campaign, then used that experience to determine what professions I liked.
After that, I ended up playing through all of them with my favorite prof, warrior.

Thanks for the advice everybody. I think I may try a new character for a few levels and see if I like it and then go from there.

Every character that is native to that game get's that campaign's character facial/hair customizations of course and furthermore, the tutorial area and starting quests. However, You really wouldn't be missing out if you brought a character from another campaign to the one you wish to play, as you'd begin the storyline where it would normally start swinging into action even for a native of that game.

All of my characters started in Prophecies, and I completed all the campaigns with those. However, I like lore, so I made a temporary character in Factions to experience the early part of the story, then re-rolled him in Nightfall to do the same. I also took the opportunity to try out a couple of the non-core professions at the same time. Because I enjoyed those professions, I recently decided to make a permanent rit (currently working on Survivor), and may make a paragon as well.

Whatever floats your boat is good.

With the 6 Core Professions it's all up to how you want the character's face/hair to look to be honest. If you already have one of the 6, there is no need to create the same Profession in Factions unless you like the look of that Profession from Factions better, the same for Nightfall.

Assassins and Ritualists must start in Factions, Dervishes and Paragons must start in Nightfall.
